Our Story
HONESTY. TRANSPARENCY. RESULTS.
Contessi Properties started with one person and a simple belief: real estate should be built on trust, not sales spin. Today, that belief runs through a team of more than 25 people across Perth and Kalbarri, working across property sales, strata management, facilities management, holiday management, and commercial leasing.
Paulette Contessi founded Contessi Properties after years of working solo in real estate, tired of watching an industry built more on targets than on people. She built a team around that belief instead, one assistant at a time, until it became the company it is today.
In June 2024, we expanded to Kalbarri, acquiring a local real estate agency and a holiday home management business, now Kalbarri Escapes, which manages over 170 properties across the region. Contessi Kalbarri and Kalbarri Escapes are both part of the Contessi Properties group. That same year, we opened our Strata Management division in Perth, led by Gary Engelbrecht, bringing proactive, transparent building management to complexes across WA.
What we believe
We don’t believe in shortcuts or sales spin. Every deal we take on, every building we manage, and every client we work with gets the same thing: honesty, clear communication, and results that actually matter.
That means sellers, buyers, landlords, tenants, and strata owners all get treated the same way, informed, respected, and confident at every step. We’re driven by outcomes, not ego, whether that’s negotiating a sale, solving a strata dispute, or making sure a building’s maintenance plan is actually funded properly.
Kalbarri: more than a satellite office
Kalbarri isn’t an afterthought for us, it’s a genuine part of the business. Since acquiring our Kalbarri agency in 2024, we’ve built a dedicated sales team and a facilities team based there year round, not run remotely from Perth, alongside Kalbarri Escapes, our holiday accommodation sister brand. It’s a real, local operation with people who know the town and the market inside out.
Between rising property values, a growing tourism market, and a tight-knit community of local entrepreneurs, we see real long-term potential in the region, and we’re investing accordingly. That means growing our local team, extending our strata and facilities management services to more buildings in Kalbarri, and continuing to build Kalbarri Escapes into the go-to name for short-term stays in the area.
What’s Next for Contessi?
We’re also expanding beyond real estate, launching West Escapes to bring full-service tourism property management to WA’s South West and coastal Perth, making short-term property investment seamless and profitable wherever it’s located.
We’re proud to support our community too, sponsoring the Subiaco Football Club’s women’s program and backing Kalbarri’s growing network of female entrepreneurs, driving new business ideas and sustainable opportunities in the region.
Now that Contessi Kalbarri is firmly established, our focus is on strengthening property management here and growing our strata management arm in Perth.
