Are We Addicted to the Idea of Growth?

Everywhere you turn, you’ll hear one message: Buy now, prices are going up.

Hold, your property will be worth more next year.

Wait it out, rates will come down and buyers will flood back in.

But here’s a question we don’t ask often enough: What if this obsession with timing the “perfect” market is stopping you from making the move you actually want to make?

The Reserve Bank held interest rates steady this week, and instantly the property pages filled with noise: predictions, forecasts, and expert hot takes. But here's a take you won't see in the headlines:

Sometimes selling is the boldest thing you can do - not because the market tells you it’s time, but because you say it is.

Too many homeowners in Perth are paralysed by market narratives. They’ve outgrown their homes, they're ready for change, they’re thinking about cashing out and simplifying life - but they’re stuck in the “wait and see” loop.

Let me be clear: There is no perfect time. The best moment to sell isn’t when rates drop or when some economist says it’s “peak Perth.” It’s when your life demands change - and the market supports a strong result.

So if you’re feeling that pull - to move, to downsize, to cash out and do something different - but you're scared the timing isn’t “right,” let me say this:

You’re not irrational. You’re human. And the most successful sellers I know don’t wait for permission. They make the market move for them.

If you’re even thinking about it - let’s have a chat. No fluff. No sales pitch. Just the truth.
